Officers from the County Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec received a report about a passenger car driving against traffic on the motorway, which had caused a collision with a minibus shortly before. – The duty officer immediately sent police patrols to various locations on the A4 to bring the danger under control as quickly as possible – reports sub-inspector Wojciech Jabłoński from the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław.
And he adds:
After entering the motorway, officers from the Bolesławiec traffic police noticed a vehicle blocked by lorries which, while driving against traffic, posed a danger to other road users. The driver resisted the officers intervening.
After the test was conducted, it turned out that the 46-year-old Ukrainian citizen had 2.5 per mille of alcohol in his system. Police findings indicate that the passenger-car driver, initially travelling towards Wrocław, hit another vehicle while joining the traffic and then changed direction.
At the request of the Bolesławiec District Prosecutor’s Office, the court remanded the Ukrainian man in custody for three months. Provincial Police Headquarters:
The suspect will be charged with causing a danger of disaster in land traffic and driving while intoxicated. The crimes carry a sentence of up to 12 years in prison.
