Officers from the Bolesławiec traffic police, while patrolling the roads of Warta Bolesławiecka municipality, stopped a passenger car driver after a chase. “The 40-year-old failed to stop for a roadside check, hoping to escape the officers,” reports asp. szt. Anna Kublik-Rościszewska, press officer for the County Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec.
As it turned out, the fugitive was completely drunk; he had more than 2 per mille of alcohol in his breath.

Additionally, while driving in a built-up area, the 40-year-old exceeded the speed limit, was not wearing a seat belt and endangered a cyclist by cutting across his path.
The man has had his driving privileges revoked since 2011, but if he had possessed a driving licence, he would have received as many as 28 penalty points.
He now faces between three months and as much as five years in prison.
