Bolesławiec traffic police, while patrolling the Nowogrodziec municipality, stopped a moped rider who was riding without a protective helmet.
But that was not the end of it. “The 50-year-old, getting behind the wheel, violated a court-imposed lifetime ban on driving all motor vehicles,” reports asp. szt. Anna Kublik-Rościszewska, press officer of the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec. “The man was not wearing a protective helmet, and a strong smell of alcohol could be detected coming from him.”
The detainee refused to undergo a breath test, so blood was taken from him. If the officers’ suspicions are confirmed, the man will additionally face charges for driving under the influence of alcohol.
The 50-year-old from Nowogrodziec municipality already faces between three months and five years in prison for violating the court-imposed ban.
