Officers from the Wrocław branch of the Central Bureau of Investigation of the Police (CBŚP), under the supervision of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Lwówek Śląski, are conducting an investigation into an organised criminal group whose members are suspected of drug-related offences. Together with officers from the Lower Silesian Customs and Tax Office, investigators carried out an operation during which they shut down a huge cannabis plantation. The illegal cultivation was located on private property in Lwówek County.
Investigators:
In the utility rooms of the building, officers discovered 378 cannabis plants in the final stage of growth. The plants had reached nearly 2 metres in height. A marijuana drying room had been set up in the building’s attic.
During a search of the remaining rooms, officers seized ready-made marijuana, electronic scales, devices known as grinders for shredding marijuana, handwritten notes recording financial settlements, mobile phones, and a book containing instructions on cultivating cannabis other than fibre hemp.
Thirty-nine-year-old Bartosz W. was detained in connection with the case. At the District Prosecutor’s Office in Lwówek Śląski, he was charged with cultivating cannabis and manufacturing narcotic substances. He could face between six months and as many as eight years in prison.
