The Ministry of National Defence competition committee selected 16 upper-secondary schools (one in each voivodeship)—among them II General Secondary School in Bolesławiec—which applied to participate in the “CYBER.MIL z klasą” programme.

This is another project of the Ministry of National Defence aimed at upper-secondary school students that has attracted considerable interest. “CYBER.MIL z klasą” provides for the creation in each voivodeship of a class specialising in “Cybersecurity and modern information technologies”. The programme involves educating students in computer science, including topics related to cybersecurity, particularly in the area of national security.

“For these capabilities and NCBC to develop, we need an influx of fresh talent. This is why we have the ‘CYBER.MIL z klasą’ programme, which guarantees that students from certified general secondary schools with this profile will go on to NCBC and the Military University of Technology, where they will improve their skills,” Mariusz Błaszczak, Minister of National Defence, said during the ceremony.

The National Cyberspace Security Centre, established in 2019, is a specialised institution of the Ministry of National Defence which, together with its subordinate units, is responsible for the security of Poland’s cyberspace and for building, developing and maintaining the IT systems used by the Ministry of National Defence.

NCBC monitors the operation of all the Ministry’s IT systems 24/7/365 and conducts operations in cyberspace—analysing and monitoring activity, identifying new directions and techniques, and actively responding to incidents that compromise the security of the network and its users.
