The incident took place on Wednesday, July 1, at around 6:00 a.m. on Road No. 94, near Jeleniów (Nowogrodziec Municipality). The driver of an Audi passenger car, a 44-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County, drove the wrong way onto a roundabout. A collision with a truck occurred.
Fortunately, no one was seriously injured. It turned out that the 44-year-old was completely drunk; he had 2.7 per mille of alcohol in his system.
The resident of our county will now face charges for causing a collision while intoxicated. He faces up to two years in prison.
