The incident occurred on June 29, in the evening, in Rakowice Wielkie (Lwówek County).
“Officers from the Road Traffic Unit of the Lwówek police detained for inspection a 23-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County, who was driving a VW Lupo,” reports junior officer Olga Łukaszewicz of the District Police Headquarters in Lwówek Śląski.
She adds:
In a built-up area, the young man was travelling at 91 km/h where the limit on that section of road was 40 km/h.
But that was not all. The 23-year-old does not have a driving licence. Neither he nor the Volkswagen’s passenger was wearing a seat belt. What is more, the vehicle itself was not authorised for road use. Its condition left much to be desired. Junior officer O. Łukaszewicz:
It had a smashed windshield and no rear window at all.
The case will end up in court.
