A conflict between six men occurred during the night of 21 June 2020 at a petrol station in Bolesławiec. Five of them beat one man. During the incident, one of the attackers kicked the victim, who was lying on the concrete surface, in the head three times, causing him to lose consciousness. As a result of the beating, 23-year-old Damian L. suffered, among other injuries, a concussion, a fracture of the cranial vault bones and intracranial bleeding into the subarachnoid space.
The perpetrators were arrested and, after being informed of the charges against them, procedural activities were carried out with their participation as part of the investigation. Then, on 24 June 2020, the Bolesławiec District Court ordered the most aggressive perpetrator, 23-year-old Tomasz W., to be held in pre-trial detention for three months.
The other perpetrators were placed under police supervision, combined with a ban on contacting the victim or approaching him within less than 250 metres, as well as a ban on leaving the country.
Tomasz W. will stand trial for beating Damian L., causing injuries that posed a real risk to the victim’s life; he faces a sentence of up to 15 years in prison, but no less than 3 years. The other perpetrators face up to 8 years in prison.
