Officers from the Bolesławiec police, as a result of operational activities, identified and arrested a person suspected of using a card lost as a result of a crime. “A resident of Bolesławiec paid for his own purchases with someone else’s card at various grocery stores, using contactless payment,” reports asp. szt. Anna Kublik-Rościszewska, press officer of the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec. “Within two days, the suspect used someone else’s property 11 times.”
He managed to pay with someone else’s card eight times; in three cases, he did not.
The arrested 61-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County confessed and gave explanations. He now faces a sentence of between one and as many as ten years in prison.
