From the morning hours, shots could be heard both from the ground and from the air at the “Twierdza” tactical exercise area in Nowa Dęba. “Fire control during the attack began with a pair of Mi-24 helicopters from the 56th Air Base engaging airborne targets. This was combat support carried out as part of Close Air Support,” says Capt. Monika Wywiórka of 10BKPanc. “Next, the organic subunits of the 10th Armored Cavalry Brigade—the support company and the anti-aircraft battery—carried out their fire missions. Then the infantry fighting vehicles moved into the attack, destroying and striking the targets that appeared.

The next stage was fire control during the defense of the mechanized company, during which targets were engaged both by BWP-1s and by dismounted vehicle crews. The support company and anti-aircraft battery also carried out their tasks during these operations.

The execution of the tasks on that day required great concentration, coordination among the subunits, and a high degree of professionalism.

Press officer Capt. M. Wywiórka adds:

One stage remains for the armored soldiers: redeployment to Świętoszów, which requires very good coordination of logistical operations, followed by the restoration of combat capability.
