Bolesławiec traffic police detained a man suspected of theft. “After receiving information about the crime and a description of the missing bicycle, the officers immediately set out to apprehend the perpetrator and recover the property,” says asp. szt. Anna Kublik-Rościszewska, press officer for the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec. “Just 20 minutes later, the officers spotted a cyclist riding a bicycle matching the description they had received earlier.
The man riding the electric bicycle was detained. He is a 21-year-old resident of Bolesławiec.
The suspect confessed to the theft. He admitted that while returning home, he noticed two unsecured bicycles in a fenced yard. He decided to take advantage of the opportunity and rode away on one of them. The young man from Bolesławiec could now face a sentence of between three months and as many as five years in prison.
The recovered bicycle, worth PLN 6,000, was returned to its owner. Bolesławiec police officers remind residents:
