On Wednesday, June 10, at approximately 1:30 a.m., the duty officer at the District Police Headquarters received a report about a dead man on the Przylesie estate in Lubin. – At the scene, police officers found the body of a 37-year-old city resident lying under a bench. The man probably died as a result of a knife blow to the chest area – reports asp. szt. Sylwia Serafin, press officer of the Lubin District Police Headquarters.
She adds:
Thorough, intensive nighttime work by Lubin police officers and the prosecutor – with the assistance of officers from the Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław – including an inspection of the scene and their own information, led investigators to the perpetrator. The evidence collected by police officers pointed to one person: a 49-year-old resident of Lubin. The suspect was arrested in his apartment.
The victim’s wallet, among other items, was found in the 49-year-old’s apartment. Asp. szt. S. Serafin: – The evidence collected made it possible to charge the detained man with murder. At the prosecutor’s request, the court ordered three months of pre-trial detention.
The 49-year-old could now face even life imprisonment.
