During a night patrol in the centre of Prochowice, Legnica district officers noticed a man walking along the pavement. “The district officer responsible for this area immediately recognised the 35-year-old, who was wanted by the court to serve a four-month prison sentence,” says junior warrant officer Jagoda Ekiert, press officer for the Municipal Police Headquarters in Legnica. “The officer promptly proceeded to check his identity. After checking the Prochowice resident in police databases, the district officer’s information was confirmed. The man was detained and taken to the Legnica police headquarters.”
But that was not the end of the matter. The 35-year-old was also carrying methamphetamine and ecstasy.
The man, who has already been taken to prison, could now face an additional sentence of up to three years.
