Officers from the Economic Crime Division of the Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters, working with officers from the Customs and Tax Inspection Unit in Zgorzelec, carried out an inspection aimed at combating illegal gambling.

“The information gathered allowed us to identify premises where gambling games might be taking place. The police officers’ suspicions were confirmed: after entering the premises, the officers discovered six machines,” reports asp. szt. Anna Kublik-Rościszewska, press officer for the Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters. “The value of the property secured exceeds PLN 70,000.”

She adds:

The secured machines contained games of chance operated for commercial purposes, which require a concession necessary to run a casino.

The machines were handed over to tax inspection officers, who will now conduct further proceedings in the case.

Organizing gambling games in violation of the law is punishable by up to three years in prison.
