On Thursday, June 4, we received two reports from Readers about rubbish in Bolesławiec. The first Reader wrote via WhatsApp:
I’m sending photos from 13 Piaskowa Street, at the back by the courtyard; there is an illegal dump there [...] This isn’t the first time there has been such a sight in this place.
Another Reader called about rubbish permanently scattered around the containers at the intersection of al. Wojska Polskiego and Niepodległości Street in Bolesławiec. “It’s becoming a dump here,” the person reporting the issue said. “People throw out old clothes and sinks; once there was even an old toilet here.”
And added:
It looks terrifying. And I realise that it isn’t only here. When I drove around the city, I saw many containers that were, to put it bluntly, filthy. That’s the kind of climate we have, that’s the kind of society we have; we won’t teach people to be tidy.
What was worst, the second Reader stressed, was that people also throw… food away near the containers. The result? Rats and other small animals. “Maybe the services should come by more often?” asks a Bolesławiec resident.
We appeal to the municipal services to address the problem.
