– In view of the continuing SARS-CoV-2 threat in Poland, qualified soldiers—a medical rescuer and a driver with an ambulance—have been assigned to support efforts in the fight against COVID-19. The soldiers collect swabs and conduct the medical evacuation of staff and residents from ten care homes located in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, says Capt. Agnieszka Kozik of the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment in Bolesławiec.
These tasks are carried out with the utmost safety precautions. – Each time the team completes its tasks, it moves to a designated area to decontaminate military equipment and hand over the protective suits to containers, notes Senior Private Paweł Ostrowski.
