Criminal investigators from the Bolesławiec police headquarters caught two residents of Warta Bolesławiecka municipality, aged 26 and 31, red-handed.

“This night will remain in the memory of the two men, residents of Warta Bolesławiecka municipality, for a long time. They broke the fuel cap on a parked truck and then used a rubber hose to pump fuel from the tank. The criminal investigators also found items used to commit the crime at the scene, including canisters. By the time they were arrested, they had managed to steal more than 120 litres of fuel.

It is worth adding that approximately 550 litres were in the tanker when it was parked. The owner’s losses were estimated at approximately PLN 3,000.

It turned out that the younger suspect had more than five offences of this type on his record. He confessed to all of them.

Both detainees could now face a sentence of between one and as many as ten years in prison.
