The draft amendment to the Act on special solutions related to preventing, counteracting and combating COVID-19, prepared by the Ministry of Infrastructure, provides for the validity of the following authorisations to be extended for the duration of the epidemic and for up to 60 days after it ends:
- driving licences (including foreign driving licences)
- tram driving permits
- permits to drive emergency vehicles or vehicles transporting cash and other valuables
- driver certificates
- driving instructor identity cards
- examiner identity cards
- certificates confirming entry in the register of driving technique instructors (driving technique instructor certificates)
- driving entitlements
- the entry of code 95 in a driving licence, confirming completion of initial qualification, accelerated initial qualification, supplementary initial qualification, accelerated supplementary initial qualification or periodic training.
This means that all these documents, entitlements and training courses will remain valid—and will continue to be valid—also during the 60-day period from the date on which the state of epidemic emergency or the state of epidemic ends.
After this period, all overdue examinations and training will have to be completed or renewed within 60 days, and the validity periods of the documents extended.
In addition, the suspension of periodic training in road transport is proposed.
