A retired soldier of the 10th Armored Cavalry Brigade in Świętoszów Leszek Andrukiewicz decided to use his 13th pension for a good cause. With the money, he bought protective medicines, vitamins and latex gloves. (In purchasing the latter, Mr. Leszek was helped by Łukasz Topa, a mechanic from Osiecznica).

The gifts went to the residents of the Saint Joseph Children’s Home in Bolesławiec. “I am a human being, not a politician,” says the donor. “I can manage without this money; these children have it worse.”

The soldier made the purchase in consultation with Sister Agnieszka Wieczorek, the facility’s director. “We certainly do not lack Divine Providence, as Mr. Leszek demonstrates,” says the head of the children’s home. “It is touching that people completely unconnected with our facility and our children think of us, help us and open their hearts. Thank you very much for this gift.”

“I would like more people like this to be found,” Mr. Leszek adds. “The 13th pension is not my money; it is our shared money.”
