Lt Col SG Andrzej Torbicz, commander of the Border Guard Post in Zgorzelec:

Yesterday's critical situation at the border crossing in Jędrzychowice prompted the services to take decisive action—at the request of the Prime Minister—including expanding the inspection area for trucks and removing the requirement for truck drivers to complete a location card. As can be seen today, these measures have produced results.

Moreover, a separate sanitary and border-control checkpoint exclusively for trucks will be established.

Traffic will certainly be even heavier over the weekend, which is why the Border Guard is preparing four sanitary and border-control stations at the new checkpoint.

The average waiting time at the Jędrzychowice crossing has fallen to approximately six hours.
