Fraudsters’ creativity knows no bounds. Officers warn:
The first coronavirus infections have been recorded in Poland, and police officers have recently received reports of coronavirus-related fraud.
Offers to sell, among other things, amulets and miraculous teas have appeared online. They allegedly protect against coronavirus infection and even ensure miraculous recovery.
Worse still, the problem concerns not only dishonest sellers who ruthlessly exploit people’s credulity. Fraudsters impersonate sanitary services and employees of the Ministry of Health.
Police warn:
Let us not be deceived and let us not buy miraculous products allegedly intended to protect us from coronavirus infection or suddenly cure us. We should also not let such people into our homes, and we should report every such case to the Police.
And they emphasize:
CURRENT INFORMATION ABOUT THE CORONAVIRUS SHOULD BE SOUGHT ONLY ON VERIFIED, OFFICIAL WEBSITES.
Checks on people under quarantine
At the same time, the Ministry of Health is implementing strict supervision of people subject to home quarantine. Police officers will check at least once a day whether these people are at the quarantine location and whether they need assistance. The information collected will be passed on to sanitary services and voivodes. The check is mainly to be carried out by telephone. Contact with police officers is intended to ensure the safety of both officers and people under quarantine. Importantly, these activities will be carried out exclusively by uniformed officers.
