Officers from the Bolesławiec traffic police, operating as part of the provincial SPEED group tasked with combating road piracy, stopped a vehicle for inspection after it was recorded travelling at 102 km/h in a built-up area.

“A 65-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County exceeded the speed limit in a built-up area by 52 km/h and lost his driving licence for three months,” says asp. szt. Anna Kublik-Rościszewska, press officer for the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec. “Additionally, the man was fined and received 10 penalty points.”

The police appeal to drivers to ease off the accelerator:

Weather, particularly during transitional periods, can be highly changeable, and sunshine does not always mean a dry road surface. Drivers should therefore obey speed limits and adjust their speed to the prevailing conditions. Driving too fast not only risks losing one’s driving licence, but also poses a serious threat to the safety of all road users.
