Police officers from the Zgorzelec traffic unit, while patrolling provincial road no. 352, noticed a BMW vehicle. The car was moving as if its driver were under the influence of alcohol or intoxicating substances.

The driver was stopped for a roadside check. He turned out to be a 39-year-old resident of Zgorzelec County. It emerged that the man’s driving licence had been revoked. What is more, he had got behind the wheel under the influence of drugs.

Furthermore, the suspect had methamphetamine and an ecstasy tablet in his possession, while under the driver’s seat there was a firearm with a loaded magazine attached.

“The 39-year-old was arrested and taken to the Zgorzelec police headquarters. He has already been charged, and the prosecutor imposed police supervision as a preventive measure,” says junior inspector Agnieszka Goguł, press officer of the District Police Headquarters in Zgorzelec. She adds: “For the crimes committed, the man faces up to eight years in prison.”
