The incident occurred on Wednesday, January 29, in the morning. A resident of the Przylesie estate called the duty officer at the Lubin police headquarters and reported seeing some men load a motorcycle into a van and drive away. A preventive patrol was immediately sent to the scene.
On one of the streets, officers noticed a Nissan passenger vehicle. Although the caller had said that the perpetrators had driven away in a delivery van, the police immediately realized they were dealing with people suspected of stealing a motorcycle. Why? The front wheel of a two-wheeler was sticking out of the trunk of the aforementioned passenger car.
– After their arrest, the driver and his passenger kept changing their version of events, claiming that they had simply bought the motorcycle. But they could not answer why they did not have its keys – says asp. szt. Sylwia Serafin from the District Police Headquarters in Lubin. – The recovered two-wheeler was returned to its owner.
The 32-year-old and 24-year-old detainees were taken to a police cell. During questioning, they admitted their guilt. They now face between three months and as many as five years in prison.
