On Thursday, January 23, the duty officer at the Lubań County Police Headquarters was informed that a resident of Lubań municipality had probably killed his dog. At the scene, officers found a 65-year-old man. They also noticed a two-wheeled cart containing the dog’s body, covered with straw and excrement.

On the property, officers found, among other things, a hammer and a shovel with fresh traces of blood.

Even more horrifyingly, the perpetrator also had another dog. However, it was taken away from him and handed over to the appropriate services.

The 65-year-old was detained and then, at the prosecutor’s request, temporarily remanded in custody by the court for two months. Police said:

The use of temporary detention is intended to ensure the proper course of the further proceedings and is justified because, in this case, the accused faces a severe penalty.

The resident of Lubań municipality could face between three months and five years in prison.
