On Tuesday, July 21, police stopped a passenger car driven by a 54-year-old resident of Nowogrodziec Municipality. The man was completely drunk. He had more than 2 parts per thousand of alcohol in his system. Moreover, investigators established that the 54-year-old was subject to a driving ban.
After completing the necessary procedures, the officers released the man to go home. An acquaintance of the detained man was supposed to look after the car.
Less than three hours later, the 54-year-old appeared on the road again. This time, he ended his drive in a ditch. An alcohol test showed nearly 3 parts per thousand. The man was taken into police custody.
He now faces up to three years in prison.
