Police officers inspected one of the residential buildings in Chojnów and arrested a 50-year-old man who had been stealing electricity by illegally connecting to the power grid.
What is more, the installation was makeshift and could have caused a short circuit.
An emergency power service was called to the scene; it dismantled and sealed the illegal connection.
Officers from Chojnów are determining how long the 50-year-old had been stealing electricity.
The arrested man could now face between three months and five years in prison. He will also have to pay for the illegally consumed electricity.
