Traffic police received information that in one of the towns in Lubin County, a man was driving a Skoda and was probably drunk.

Officers went to the scene. Before Lubin, they spotted the car described by the witness. It was driving across the entire width of the road.

The police activated their lights and siren, signaling the suspect to stop. However, he did not react; on the contrary, he began to flee, committing numerous traffic offenses in the process. The fugitive drove into the opposite lane and onto the shoulder, and also blocked the way of the police officers following him.

At one point, he turned onto a forest road and crashed the Skoda into a tree. This did not discourage him in the slightest—he jumped out of the car and began fleeing on foot.

After a brief chase, he was apprehended. It turned out that the 22-year-old resident of the Ścinawa municipality was completely drunk; he had more than 2 per mille of alcohol in his system. Interestingly, the road pirate had never held a driving licence.

At the time of his arrest, the fugitive was aggressive: he failed to follow the officers’ orders, insulted the police officers and violated their bodily integrity.

The man was taken to a police cell. He could now face a sentence ranging from three months to as much as five years in prison.
