A 17-year-old resident of the Ścinawa municipality decided to obtain money easily for his own expenses. From July to December of this year, taking advantage both of his mother’s inattention and her absence, he removed her jewelry from a hiding place and asked older friends to pawn the valuables at a pawnshop. He claimed that the gold belonged to him.

In total, the suspect took two rings, two chains and a wedding ring, causing losses amounting to PLN 1,000.
In December, the victim realized that some jewelry was missing from the hiding place and notified the police. Officers detained the 17-year-old. The teenager told police that he had stolen because he did not have money for his own expenses.
The young man has already been charged with theft of property. He could now face a sentence of between three months and as much as five years in prison.
