The incident occurred on Saturday in one of the towns in Bolesławiec County. Police were called to a domestic dispute between a woman and a man. During the argument, a knife fell from the 23-year-old man's hand. The weapon bounced so unfortunately that it struck a child lying in a crib. The baby was taken to hospital for observation. Fortunately, the child did not suffer any more serious injuries.
The 23-year-old was detained. He was charged with abusing his family. He was also banned from approaching the injured woman and contacting her.
The police and prosecutor's office are investigating the case. The suspect could face a sentence of between three months and five years in prison.
