Officers from the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec received a report about a vehicle travelling on the A4 motorway with a blue flashing light. Its driver was changing lanes improperly.
A traffic patrol immediately set out for the scene. When the police officers located the aforementioned BMW, they took action to stop and inspect it. At first, the driver stopped, pretending that he intended to comply with the officers’ instructions. However, after a moment he suddenly drove off and began to flee.
The chase moved from the roads of Bolesławiec County onto the A4 motorway toward the border. During the escape, the driver crossed a double solid line, changed lanes improperly and cut off other vehicles. He hoped he would manage to get away.
The duty officer at the Bolesławiec unit informed officers from Zgorzelec about the entire situation so that they could block the motorway.
Thanks to cooperation between officers from the two units, the vehicle had to stop. The driver then tried to escape on foot.
After a brief chase, the man was detained. He is a 25-year-old resident of Bolesławiec. Breathalyser and drug tests were negative.

During the proceedings, it turned out that the suspect had not only committed offences and misdemeanours connected with the chase:
- driving a vehicle with a blue flashing light
- fleeing from the Police
- forcing an officer to abandon official duties
- numerous traffic offences.
Additionally, the suspect was charged with damaging property and persistently harassing a married couple from Bolesławiec County.
The suspect will face charges for a total of four crimes and a number of misdemeanours. He faces up to five years in prison, financial penalties and loss of his driving licence.
