The incident occurred on November 7, at around 3:00 a.m. On Wolności Street in Jelenia Góra, police officers noticed an Audi. The driver’s manner of driving indicated that he might be under the influence of alcohol. (The driver was driving across the entire width of the road.) The officers decided to stop him for a traffic check.

When the police signaled for the driver to stop, he pulled into a bus bay. But when the officers got out of the police car, he suddenly drove off and began to flee. A chase began.

Jelenia Góra police:

While fleeing, the driver committed a series of traffic offenses.

He was eventually stopped on a gravel road after losing control of the vehicle. The fugitive turned out to be a 23-year-old resident of Jelenia Góra County. The police detected a strong smell of alcohol coming from him. (The test conducted showed nearly 1 per mille.)

What is more, it came to light that the man was subject to a court-ordered driving ban. To make matters worse, the 23-year-old... had never had a driving licence.

The extremely irresponsible driver was taken into police custody. He could now face a sentence of between three months and five years in prison.
