The duty officer at the Zgorzelec police station received a report about a man breaking into a container at one of the construction sites in the city. A patrol from the prevention division and criminal investigators were immediately dispatched to the scene.

The joint action resulted in the arrest of a 37-year-old man, who had managed to take some construction equipment out of the container.
The suspect was taken to the police station and, the following day, to the District Prosecutor’s Office. He was charged with several offences: breaking into a container and attempting to steal construction equipment; misappropriating a bank card and attempting to withdraw PLN 1,200; and violating the sanctity of the home.
At the prosecutor’s request, the court ordered three months of pre-trial detention for the 37-year-old. The man could face up to 10 years in prison.
