We asked Marcin Stróżyński, the former deputy chair of the Bolesławiec County Council, for comment (all statements have been authorised):

I am terribly disappointed with this coalition, especially Deputy County Head Mirosław Horzempa and full-time member of the Bolesławiec County Board Stanisław Chwojnicki. I did not allow them to politically corrupt me, and that is probably why the decision was made to dismiss me in my absence.

Various proposals came from these two people. One of them offered me various positions. Mr Chwojnicki told me that if I voted the way the coalition wanted, one of the mayors would arrange everything I wanted for me. I even have a recording of this for my own protection.

The councillor adds:

I do not accept such standards in Law and Justice, which is represented by two members of this formation on the County Council [this concerns M. Horzempa and Waldemar Krysztofiak – istotne.pl editor’s note].

I hope that councillors Waldemar and Mirosław will resign from PiS for voting to remove a councillor and PiS member from the position of deputy chair of the county council, if they have any honour, since they also voted against the party line and, one could say, against their voters, whom they promised during the campaign, when running on the Law and Justice list, to abolish the full-time member of the board.

What will the former deputy chair do?

M. Stróżyński:

I am a PiS member and I voted as I promised my voters, in accordance with the will of the party and the people who voted for me to represent such a position.

We spoke with both the full-time member of the Bolesławiec County Board, Stanisław Chwojnicki, and Deputy County Head Mirosław Horzempa. (With the former, for quite a long time.) However, both men noted that they did not wish to comment on the matter.
