The incident occurred on Saturday, September 28, at one of the fuel depots in Jelenia Góra. A passer-by notified the emergency services that a bloodied man was lying on the property, with dogs running around him.

According to tvn24.pl:

Firefighters were the first to arrive at the scene. The animals—as they reported—were aggressive. “They kept attacking the man lying there. The firefighters tried to drive the dogs away using water,” said junior captain Krzysztof Zakrzewski of the Jelenia Góra fire service.

The death of the 64-year-old man, probably a caretaker, was confirmed at the scene.

Police and the prosecutor’s office are investigating the case. Investigators are determining whether the dogs attacked the man or whether he had died earlier. An autopsy is expected to resolve the doubts.

The German shepherds were taken to an animal shelter for observation. More information is available on tvn24.pl.
