Announcement by the Mayor of Bolesławiec dated September 12, 2019:
Due to the resulting threat to people’s health and lives caused by unexploded ordnance from World War II found in Bolesławiec at Staroszkolna Street (the former Eastern Railway Station), I order the evacuation of all persons staying in the city of Bolesławiec from properties located at the following streets:
- Bolesława Chrobrego Street, even-numbered addresses 30–42, odd-numbered addresses from number 25 (Biedronka) to the intersection with Aleja Tysiąclecia,
- Aleja Tysiąclecia 1,
- Staroszkolna 2ab,
and:
- the car park at Hutnicza Street,
- the car park at Fabryczna Street
The evacuation will take place on September 14, 2019 (Saturday), from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
The unexploded ordnance will be removed from 11:00 a.m. until further notice.
For the duration of the evacuation, rooms have been prepared at the Bolesławiec Cultural Centre – International Ceramics Centre in Bolesławiec, 1C Plac Marszałka J. Piłsudskiego, where people can take shelter during the evacuation.
People requiring assistance with evacuation and those requiring medical transport are asked to call 604 112 842 or 604 220 085 on Friday by 9:00 p.m. and on Saturday by 9:00 a.m. After that time, such needs should be reported to Police officers operating in the area.
From 10:00 a.m.:
- vehicular traffic in the danger area will be suspended until further notice,
- MZK bus routes will change in accordance with the information posted at bus stops (which will be closed), on displays inside buses and on the MZK website in Bolesławiec.
We will notify you about the end of the evacuation by SMS and through information on the city’s website.
