A serious incident occurred at the Hospital of Saint Luke in Bolesławiec on Wednesday after 11:00 a.m. During construction work at one of the facility’s buildings, a gas pipe was damaged, causing a dangerous gas leak. Emergency services—including the fire service, the gas emergency service and the police—were immediately dispatched to the scene.

Due to the real threat to the lives and health of patients and staff, an urgent evacuation was ordered for people in Block A of the county hospital. According to information obtained, approximately 200 people left the building. Those evacuated included patients, doctors, nurses and other medical staff.

The operation proceeded smoothly thanks to the quick response of hospital staff and emergency services. The area was secured and access to the building restricted.
