Lubin police officers arrested two drunk truck drivers. The first was caught by officers on September 6 on the S3 expressway. There, officers stopped an Iveco vehicle for inspection, and its driver turned out to be a 49-year-old man.
The officers smelled alcohol on the man from Lubin, so they decided to check his sobriety. The police officers’ suspicions were confirmed: the 49-year-old had more than 0.7 per mille of alcohol in his system. The man lost his driving licence.
Another intoxicated truck driver was arrested on the same day. The 61-year-old was caught because he came to… work in that condition. The dispatcher smelled alcohol on him and did not allow the irresponsible resident of Biłgoraj County to continue driving, notifying the police.
The test showed more than 0.6 per mille in the 61-year-old’s system. The suspect explained that he had drunk only one beer and was taking medication that could have intensified the effects of the alcohol.
These explanations did little to help. The man lost his driving licence.
Both men could now face up to two years behind bars.
