The tragedy occurred on Sunday, September 1, a few minutes before midnight, in Miłków. Preliminary findings by investigators indicate that the 41-year-old driver of a Mercedes, traveling with a 43-year-old female passenger, most likely from Karpacz toward Jelenia Góra, veered onto a grass verge for undetermined reasons and then plunged into the riverbed of the Łomnica.
The doctor who arrived at the scene pronounced the driver dead. The injured passenger was taken to hospital.
Police are currently investigating the causes and circumstances of this tragic accident.
