Officers from the Traffic Department of the Bolesławiec District Police Headquarters stopped a vehicle that was travelling too fast within the city.

The driver was a 28-year-old resident of the Nowogrodziec municipality. In a built-up area where the speed limit was 50 km/h, the woman was travelling at 108 km/h. In connection with the offence, the officers confiscated the driver’s licence and fined her 500 złoty, also imposing 10 penalty points.

We remind you that, under the applicable regulations, any road user who exceeds the permitted speed in a built-up area by at least 50 km/h will lose their driving licence for a period of three months. The document is confiscated directly by the police officer conducting the inspection.

If, despite the ban, such a person continues to drive a vehicle, the period for which their driving privileges are withdrawn will be extended to six months. If the situation occurs again during that period, the starosta will issue a decision revoking their driving privileges. This will mean that they must retake the driving test.
