Officers from the District Police Headquarters in Bolesławiec received a report of a break-in. As a result of the crime, the victim lost a safe containing a collection of coins and cash in various currencies. The incident occurred in the Bolesławiec municipality.

Based on the information gathered, it was established that the perpetrators might be in Polkowice County. The Bolesławiec police immediately began cooperating with officers from the District Police Headquarters in Polkowice, which resulted in the detention of three people. The first detentions involved a couple: a 24-year-old woman from Bolesławiec County and her 29-year-old boyfriend from Polkowice County. Further actions led to the identification and detention of the couple’s accomplice, a 25-year-old resident of Polkowice County.

During a search of the garage used by the 29-year-old, police officers noticed a hole in the wall. It turned out that the wall was double-layered, and the criminals had hidden the cash obtained from the break-in there. More than PLN 50,000, over EUR 3,000 and Czech korunas were recovered.

Further actions also led to the recovery of silver and gold collector coins, which the officers found in the undergrowth. The coins were in two backpacks. 

All those detained will face charges for burglary and theft; they face up to 10 years in prison.
