Damage to the asphalt, sand on the road and increased traffic are potential hazards for motorcyclists. A moment of inattention or a sudden maneuver is enough to make a motorcycle fall inevitable.

A motorcyclist is an unprotected road user; apart from a helmet, nothing protects them. “Therefore, it is important to remember the obligation to wear a protective helmet and appropriate clothing when riding a motorcycle,” police officers emphasize. “Thanks to these items of equipment, injuries sustained by a motorcyclist during a fall or loss of balance on the road may be less severe.”

Officers:

The foundation of safety—as always—is the law and compliance with it. Observing speed limits, maintaining an appropriate distance between vehicles, performing overtaking and passing maneuvers correctly, and paying attention to road signs and signals are all elements that make motorcycle riding safe not only for motorized road users but also for other traffic participants.

They add:

Concerned about motorcyclists who are less visible on the roads, we urge car drivers to check their mirrors more often. Due to their size, motorcycles can often move more smoothly and dynamically. As a result, they become less visible to other road users.

It is also common to begin an overtaking maneuver without checking the mirror. “Car drivers do not realize how a seemingly simple action takes on enormous significance in this situation, because a single glance in the mirror can save someone’s life or health,” the officers emphasize. “We appeal to all drivers to exercise caution and comply with traffic regulations.”
