As we read on the Facebook profile of Explosive Ordnance Disposal Patrol No. 23:

During two days of mine-clearance and pyrotechnic operations (13–14 August 2019), we removed 4,372 explosive and hazardous items dating from World War II from a house construction site.

A dozen or so explosive items were found by an excavator operator while digging the foundation trench for a residential building; the remainder were detected deeper in the ground by us.

The neutralized explosive items consisted mainly of ammunition for the Soviet ShVAK 20 mm aircraft cannon, as well as F-1 anti-personnel grenades and a Panzerfaust anti-tank grenade launcher.

In total, we detected and neutralized the following at the construction site:
- 4,127 rounds of 20 mm ammunition;
- 44 F-1 anti-personnel grenades;
- 200 rifle-ammunition rounds in 5 corroded magazines.
- 1 Panzerfaust.
TOTAL: 4,372 items.

All the items were transported to a training ground and then detonated.

We remind you that if you find unexploded ordnance, misfired shells, or explosive and hazardous items, do not touch them and report them as soon as possible by calling the emergency number or the police.
