The incident occurred on Wednesday, July 31, at around 11:00 a.m. in Jelenia Góra. The duty officer at the local police headquarters received information from the remand prison about the escape of a man serving a six-month sentence for theft. It concerned Marcin G., a 28-year-old resident of Bolesławiec County. Our fellow resident's sentence was due to end in November this year.

Jelenia Góra police launched extensive operations to apprehend the wanted man. Nearly 100 officers from the prevention and criminal divisions of the Jelenia Góra Municipal Police Headquarters and the Lower Silesian Provincial Police Headquarters in Wrocław, a tracking dog and a police helicopter were involved in the search for the escapee.
Marcin G. was arrested at around 3:00 p.m. in Jelenia Góra County.
The officers are currently investigating the circumstances of the convicted man's escape in detail. Moreover, the man may now face up to two years in prison.
