They vandalized the alarm siren with expanding foam. “Human stupidity knows no bounds”

The incident occurred in the town of Ochodze in Opole Voivodeship. The local firefighters wrote on their Facebook profile:

[…] during cleanup work around the fire station, our firefighters noticed something unpleasant—something none of us would have expected. Namely, it concerned the alarm call for our unit! Apparently, someone is bothered by the alarm siren and by the fact that all our fellow firefighters leave everything behind and run when they hear the signal.

The uniformed officers added:

Since yesterday, we have not had that option, because apparently someone was bothered by the signal. Our alarm siren was disabled with expanding foam.

The creators of the Korytarz życia – włącz myślenie campaign commented on the matter. Its co-initiators are volunteer firefighters from Czerna (the municipality of Nowogrodziec):

We come from the volunteer firefighting community. To reach the scene as quickly as possible, an effective alert is needed so that we can report to the fire station. The alarm siren serves this purpose. There are also new solutions, such as simultaneous alerts and text messages. But there is not always reception. And such a siren will NEVER fail.

They added:

And some idiot used expanding foam to buy himself some peace and quiet. Human stupidity knows no bounds.
