The certification aimed to conduct a final assessment of the forces comprising the Polish Military Contingent EUFOR in Bosnia and Herzegovina (and, at the same time, the final stage of the soldiers’ preparations for departure to the area where they will perform their tasks).

The core of the XVIII rotation of the EUFOR Althea Polish Military Contingent will consist of soldiers from the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment, commanded by Lt. Col. Grzegorz Pawełko.

The exercise primarily assessed operations under combat conditions, as well as the functioning of the contingent’s command and staff. The assessment took into account knowledge of the procedures and tasks applicable to the contingent, along with the theoretical and practical performance of tasks by its individual elements, resulting from the contingent’s purpose and the nature of the mission.

The contingent’s training was assessed by the Certifying Team of the Armed Forces Operational Command. The certification, as a result of which the contingent was assessed as capable of carrying out the tasks assigned to it, was the final stage before the soldiers flew to the mission area.
