On 4 July 2019, police officers stopped Rafał K., who was travelling in a Mercedes, for inspection at the border crossing in Jędrzychowice. As a result of the actions taken, the officers discovered drugs in the car: 14 litres of liquid amphetamine (equivalent to 42,000 dealer doses), 1,997.4 g net of MDMA (equivalent to 2,000 dealer doses), and 401.1 g of cocaine (equivalent to 401 dealer doses), with a total black-market value of PLN 1,840,000.

In connection with the above, the District Prosecutor’s Office in Zgorzelec opened an investigation into an offence under Article 55(3) of the Act of 29 July 2005 on counteracting drug addiction (Journal of Laws 2012.124, consolidated text), and the same charge was brought against Rafał K. At the request of the District Prosecutor’s Office in Zgorzelec, Rafał K. was remanded in custody for a period of three months.
