On Tuesday, June 11, a mine-clearance operation began at the site of a former German brickworks between Płóczki Górne and Mojesz (Lwówek County). It involves soldiers from Clearance Patrol No. 23 of the 23rd Silesian Artillery Regiment in Bolesławiec, as well as underwater explosive ordnance divers from Świnoujście.
Recently, Bolesławiec sappers recovered three items of unexploded ordnance from the shore of the flooded excavation at the former brickworks. It then turned out that dangerous objects were also located underwater.
The divers from the coast are now checking the entire excavation area. The operation will continue until the sappers determine that there is no longer any danger.
