Today, before 7 a.m., officers from the Municipal Police Headquarters in Wrocław detained a person suspected of attacking a clergyman. The crime occurred on the premises of a Wrocław church dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
According to the witnesses’ preliminary account, the detained man spoke with the priest shortly before the attack and then stabbed the clergyman with a knife. The aggressor was restrained by bystanders and taken over by police officers.
The 57-year-old was taken to one of the police stations, where activities involving him are currently being carried out. The injured clergyman, who was conscious, was transported to one of the local hospitals.
Police officers from the Wrocław Municipal Police Headquarters are currently clarifying all the circumstances of the incident. (The officers secured, among other things, the knife used by the perpetrator).
