Criminal investigators from Jelenia Góra, together with officers from Kowary, identified and then detained a 16-year-old resident of Kraków County suspected of fraud.
As established, in February this year the teenager defrauded a resident of Jelenia Góra County, swindling her out of several thousand zlotys using the so-called grandchild method.
In a similar way, the minor defrauded or attempted to defraud other people in Jelenia Góra and in other cities across the country.
As usual, the perpetrator called victims, claiming to be a close relative, and persuaded them to hand over money to deal with formalities related to a road accident.
The police are currently clarifying all the circumstances of the case in detail. The family court will now decide the 16-year-old’s further fate.
